Publication Ethics

The scientific journal Prospecting and Development of Oil and Gas Fields adheres to international standards of academic integrity and ethical principles of scholarly publishing. The Editorial Board follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) as well as methodological resources developed by leading international publishers.

General principles

The aim of the editorial policy is to ensure transparency and trust in the publication process. The Editorial Board is guided by principles of scientific value, impartiality, professionalism, and high-quality standards. All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review procedure, which guarantees the independence of assessment and objectivity in selection.

Editorial decisions

Acceptance of an article is based solely on its academic significance, originality, and the reviewers’ conclusions. Editors must avoid bias or discrimination on the basis of gender, race, religion, political views, or country of origin of the authors. Unpublished results may not be used by editors or reviewers for personal purposes without the author’s consent.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Information about authors and the content of submissions is not disclosed to third parties, except those directly involved in the review or publication process.

Conflicts of interest

Editors and reviewers are obliged to declare any potential conflicts of interest and must withdraw from consideration of manuscripts where such conflicts exist. The use of unpublished material without the authors’ permission is strictly prohibited.

Research involving humans

Articles based on sociological or biomedical studies must include confirmation of approval by the relevant ethics committees. It is mandatory to provide information on the voluntary participation of respondents, the obtaining of written informed consent, and guarantees of confidentiality and anonymity.

Authors are required to demonstrate compliance with international standards and codes of research ethics, in particular:

Where approval by an ethics committee is not required, authors must provide an official statement of exemption or refer to the applicable national or local regulations governing such exceptions.

Responsibilities of the Editorial Board

The Editorial Board undertakes to reject manuscripts that do not match the scope of the journal, contain plagiarism, or represent duplicate publications. It guarantees respectful treatment of authors and transparency of editorial procedures.

Responsibilities of reviewers

Reviewers must provide objective and unbiased evaluations, maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts, comply with deadlines, and submit well-reasoned and constructive feedback.

Responsibilities of authors

Authors are responsible for the novelty and accuracy of their results, proper citation of sources, the absence of plagiarism or self-plagiarism, and the originality of the submitted article. If significant errors are discovered, authors must promptly correct or retract the work.

Data and transparency

The journal supports openness in research. Data underlying published results may be made available upon official request through the editorial office, subject to the author’s consent.

Post-publication discussions

The Editorial Board encourages debate on published articles through recognised academic platforms. Constructive criticism or justified concerns are considered in line with the journal’s policies and may result in corrections or retractions.

Use of artificial intelligence

The journal does not recognise artificial intelligence systems as authors or co-authors. AI may be used only as a tool for language improvement or data analysis, and its use must be clearly declared in the manuscript.

  • participation in the conception or design of the study;
  • or involvement in the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.

Participation in drafting or critically revising the manuscript:
