The journal Prospecting and Development of Oil and Gas Fields strictly adheres to the principles of academic integrity and regards plagiarism as a serious violation of the ethical standards of scholarly communication. Plagiarism is understood as any unauthorised use of another person’s ideas, results, or text without appropriate citation. This may include verbatim copying, inadequate or concealed paraphrasing, as well as the use of third-party illustrations, tables, or figures. A separate form of misconduct is self-plagiarism, when an author resubmits previously published material as if it were new.
All manuscripts submitted to the Editorial Office undergo a similarity check using specialised software iThenticate and are also examined by the Editorial Board for proper referencing and compliance with academic standards. If the originality of the text exceeds 85%, the article may proceed to further review. Where the originality level is between 75% and 85%, authors are required to revise the text and clarify citations. Manuscripts with originality below 75% are not considered for publication.
If plagiarism is detected during the review process, the manuscript will be rejected and the author notified with an explanation. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the Editorial Office reserves the right to retract the article, issue a retraction notice, and inform the databases in which the journal is indexed.
