Terms of Publication

The editorial board of the scientific journal Prospecting and Development of Oil and Gas Fields considers for review only manuscripts prepared in accordance with the established requirements.


Language of submission

Articles may be written in Ukrainian or in English (British standard). Manuscripts in English are accepted only if the text is original or professionally translated. The use of online machine translation tools is deemed unacceptable. Once a manuscript has been submitted, changes to the list of authors are not permitted.


Submission requirements

  • File formats: *.doc or *.docx.
  • Manuscripts should be submitted either by e-mail to: nung@pdogf.com.ua or via the journal’s website in the Submit an Article section.
  • Each submission must be accompanied by a separate file containing author information (in both Ukrainian and English), including: surname, given name(s), full institutional affiliation and postal address, contact telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, academic degree, academic title and/or position.
  • It is compulsory to indicate the ORCID ID of each author (to obtain an identifier, visit https://orcid.org/).
  • File names must correspond to the author’s surname, e.g.: Ivanov_Article, Ivanov_Details.

Thematic scope

The journal publishes original research addressing fundamental and applied issues in the following fields:

  • geology and Earth sciences;
  • specialised mechanical engineering;
  • oil and gas engineering;
  • oil and gas technologies.

Review and evaluation process

All submissions are processed in the order in which they are received. The official submission date is considered to be the day the manuscript arrives at the editorial office. Each article undergoes a three-stage evaluation:

  1. Verification of compliance with the journal’s general requirements.
  2. Assessment of text originality and citation accuracy.
  3. External expert peer review.

Rejection policy

Manuscripts that do not comply with these requirements may be declined without further review. Authors will be duly informed of such a decision.
